BGC Kitchen Contractors

Three Port St. Lucie contractors recently collaborated on a volunteer project to provide new kitchen facilities to the Ken Pruitt Unit of the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County (BGCSLC).

The Clubhouse, located at 10673 E Lennard Road., kitchen was in disarray.

So when club director Nancy Borges began a basic Culinary Arts program for the young people at the club, she had to improvise.

The basic Culinary Arts program is part of a national Boys & Girls Clubs of America initiative called Healthy Habits. It’s designed to teach young people about healthful foods and meal-making and to make smart food choices.

Thanks to Paradise Homes, the Port St. Lucie-based builder that provided the cabinets and countertops, and Al Ambra from Finished Touch Inc. and Kasey from Stone United, Inc., who provided installation services, the Club facility has a new kitchen area in which members can better learn culinary skills.

“We can’t thank these three local businesses enough for donating materials and labor to our club,” Borges said. “Their efforts will make it a lot easier to teach our members the basic culinary skills they should know.”
