Summer Brain Gain

Summer Brain Gain

Offered during summer programming, Summer Brain Gain consists of academic exercises designed to combat Summer Slide, the tendency among young people to lose some of the gains they made during the school year. It comprises week-long modules focused on STEAM (STEM plus the arts) subjects that are aligned with common core anchor standards.

This Web-based individualized learning system helps members identify their academic weaknesses and tailors lessons to strengthen their skills in those areas.

Money Matters

Money Matters promotes financial responsibility and independence among Club members of all ages by building their basic money management skills. Through a series of age-appropriate exercises, participants start by learning the basics of money. As they get older they learn such concepts as how to manage a checking account, budget, save and invest. They also learn about starting small businesses and paying for college.

STEM Programming

STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) Programming.  BGCSLC offer a variety of STEM-oriented lessons that lead members to consider careers in STEM fields.
