International Day of the Girl is October 11, 2020. This annual celebration was declared in 2011 by the United Nations General Assembly as a day to focus on addressing the challenges girls face and promoting their empowerment.

Many girls growing up in the United States are held back by poverty, poor-performing schools, and teen violence. Reach out and influence the life of a girl in your own community by volunteering as a tutor or mentor.

This year, 2020, marks the 30th anniversary of recognizing girls as Club members and officially becoming the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. In honor of this milestone and International Day of the Girl, we’re elevating girls and continuing to do whatever it takes to give every girl equal access to a great future.
