Young people need to work toward careers they are interested in and passionate about, Chad Miller, author of “Dad the Mom” recently told more than 30 teenage members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County.

Dad The Mom

Miller, who lives on the Treasure Coast, conducted two talks on the responsibilities involved in becoming an adult, including the importance of having great character, pursuing an education, and saving money.

He used his life experiences to provide lessons that both inspired and informed.

“I got a lot out of this presentation,” said Tyrell, one of the teen members of BGCSLC. He told us that in business, we need to provide good customer service and focus on making the client happy, and not just on making money.”

“It’s always great to have guest speaker’s talk with our youth. Chad was able to really connect with our teens and provide useful advice. We look forward to using his book, ‘Major Lessons for Minors’ as an opportunity for our teens to learn even more. After hearing Chad talk they are all excited to read it, “stated Vice President of Development, Maygan Johnson.

Miller, who also is a Realtor, runs www.dadthemom.com , a website on which he discusses such issues as child entitlement and parenting tips.
