ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FL – GL Homes, one of Florida’s largest homebuilders of new communities including Riverland in Port St. Lucie, donated $25,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of St. Lucie County (BGCSLC) 25th Anniversary Campaign. A percentage of their donation will support Operation Dinner Table.

BGCSLC is using $10,000 from GL Homes’ donation for their Operation Dinner Table program which provides boxes of groceries – including chicken, eggs, and fresh produce – every week for Club members and their families.  The two-month program also includes toiletries and family board games.  Families can either pick up the supplies at their Boys & Girls Club or the GL Homes donated van will deliver to families without transportation.

“We’re so grateful for GL Homes’ many years of loyal support,” said Will Armstead, CEO. “From backpacks filled with school supplies to peanut butter and jelly, a playground, a 15-passenger van, and now this donation to help feed families – GL Homes is truly a great asset to Port St. Lucie and the entire community.”

Earlier this year, GL Homes donated a 15-passenger van to BGCSLC that was used to pick up essentials donated by Florida Crystals and TKM Bengard Farms.  This donation included 2,600 pounds of sugar, 300 bags of rice, and 42 cartons of lettuce which was distributed to Club members and their families before Easter weekend.

“GL Homes is here to help the community through our time and resources, to do our part during this pandemic,” said GL Homes Director of Community Relations Sarah Alsofrom.

On Saturday, May 30, BGCSLC is organizing a culminating event where it will distribute a large number of groceries and toiletries to families from its Clubs.
