The Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County held its 20th Annual Chuck Hill Golf Classic at Club Med, Sandpiper Bay Golf Club on Saturday, October 15th. With the support of 104 energetic golfers, community partners, long time golf chair, Charles Cuomo, and his hardworking committee the Club was able to raise $20,000. Golfers experienced perfect weather and a great day of golf, filled with competition, fun, prizes and fellowship. Congratulations goes out to Travis Leonard for winning the men’s longest drive, Pat Ayres for winning the women’s longest drive and Scott VanDuzer Jr. for winning the men’s closest to the pin. Accolades are also in order for the A&G Concrete Pools, Inc. team who shot 14 under par, the best score of the day.

Board Member and tournament chair Charles Cuomo was very happy with the overall event stating, “Once again the golfers and sponsors made this tournament a great success. Special thanks needs to be given to Club Med for allowing us to be able to use this beautiful course, Nelson Family Farms for sponsoring the delicious lunch at Club Med, A&G Concrete Pool’s Inc. for being an eagle sponsor and the VanDuzer Foundation for being the shootout sponsor.”Annually, the Chuck Hill Golf Classic’s goal is to provide the support needed for the Club to fulfill its mission, to enable all young people, especially those who need the Clubs most, to reach their full potential, as productive, caring, responsible citizens. This year all funds generated from the tournament will be used to take Teen Club members from the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County on College Tours and Career Fieldtrips to help expand their horizons and ultimately entice them to graduate high school.
