Chili Cook Off

This year becaue of the COVID19 pandemic we had to restructure our event a bit to keep people safe, healthy, and follow CDC guidelines.

For the pre-fundraising aspect you can create a team with those you work with OR any individual can be their own force of fundraising.

Click the link here to sign up as a team or as an individual. The money you raise will go to the programs used to keep the youth of St. Lucie County engaged, educated and entertained.

Chili Cook-Off COVID19 Update

         COVID has brought us many challenges over the past few months, and Boys and Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County (BGCSLC) has risen to the occasion every single time. Staying true to their mission of, “Whatever It Takes”, BGCSLC is redefining the 38th Chili Cookoff, originally planned as an outside event at Causeway Cove Marina on July 11th. However, with the uptick of COVID on the Treasure Coast, they have made the proactive and responsible decision to take a more virtual approach.

        “Our Club Kids and our community count on us” said Will Armstead, BGCSLC Chief Executive Officer. We will not cancel the Chili Cookoff. We rely on this event to help fund our programs. What we have planned is different, innovative, fun and most importantly safe.”

          The theme of this year’s Chili Cookoff is 1994, as this is the year that commemorates BGCSLC’s 25th Anniversary. There are several ways to get involved. Create a workplace, family, or friendly virtual team and invite people to donate to your team. The team that raises the most money will win first place in fundraising. Another way to participate is to create a video making chili, dressed up in your 1994 theme and post it to Facebook. As the wheel gets reinvented there will be more opportunities for prizes and bragging rights. Last but certainly not least is the Red-Hot Chili Pepper Challenge. On Facebook, set a personal fundraiser benefiting Boys and Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County. Then set a goal. IF you reach your goal, you will be expected to eat a red-hot chili pepper on camera. Will you accept the challenge? Will Armstead has, along with BGCSLC CFO, Melanie Wiles. Will you challenge a friend to participate too?

Chili Cook-Off will be 100% virtual this year...but still tons of FUN!

  1. Check on the current team themes already taken. There can only be 1 of each theme, first come, first served.
  2. Click on the 2020 Team Registration Form and print.
  3. All teams must conduct a fundraiser and cook at least one pot of competition Chili (no beans).
