Peter W. Busch Foundation and Family Meals Partners with Boys & Girls Clubs of SLC to Provide Thanksgiving Day Meals.

Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County had a successful Turkey give out Friday, November 18th. The event took place from 5pm-6pm at their Garden Terrace Unit in Ft. Pierce.

This event truly showcased the holiday spirit of giving as several community partners came together to provide 50 under privileged families with a nice Thanksgiving Day meal. The Peter W. Busch Foundation donated 25 Hams and 25 Turkeys, Family Meals donated all the sides including potatoes, stuffing, green beans, carrots, soup, rolls and a desert. In addition, Sarah Pride and four other members from the St. Lucie County Property Appraisers office donated their time to pre-package all the food into nice individual bags.

“97% of our Club members at the Boys & Girls Clubs in Ft. Pierce qualify for free of reduced lunch. Without initiatives like these Club members would not be able to enjoy a nice Thanksgiving meal, or in some cases a meal at all.” Stated Will Armstead, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County. “We are so grateful to have such amazing community partners and nonprofit organizations willing to work together, that is where the magic comes from and how the job gets done.”

The event went very smooth, pre-designated families arrived at the Club and within minutes were able to check in and happily receive their nicely packaged meal.

To quote one of our Club parents, Donna, “Thank You, this means an awful lot to our family. I was so surprised to see what a wonderful meal I will be able to prepare.”
