GL Homes upgrades Clubs with new furniture

Teen Club members at the Boys & Girls Club’s Ken Pruitt Club were pleasantly surprised when they comfortably sat in upgraded furniture to participate in their Career Launch – workforce readiness program last week.  From couches, desks, and chairs, the Club was beautified with a generous gift from GL Homes to provide a world-class facility to local youth.  The Ken Pruitt Club was just one of many Clubs that GL Homes donated furniture to enhance many facilities at part of the Clubs 25th Anniversary Campaign.

GL Homes took on the role of Santa Claus with a small army of movers and their truck as the reindeer when they delivered furniture and supplies to each of the organization’s Clubhouse locations. The truck was packed with quality office furniture and sofas valued at $15,000. During the delivery, Club kids quickly called dibs on a sofa where they will catch up on their homework, read or play games.

“At each of the clubs of Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County, it was obvious that they were in desperate need of furniture and office resources due to a decade of wear and tear. We were proud seeing the faces of the kids as the furniture upgrades were delivered by the trucks. GL Homes was eager to show these young people that we care about them and excited that they will be able to do their homework and study in comfort on these new sofas and work stations,”

– Sarah Alsofrom, Director of Community Relations with GL Homes.

“We want our Club members to have nothing short of a world-class environment when they walk through our doors with safe, attractive, fully equipped buildings.  We appreciate GL Homes for continually doing whatever it takes to build great futures for our Club kids,” said Will Armstead, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County.

This special gift from GL Homes is just the beginning of the Clubs 25th Anniversary Campaign to provide world-class Clubs, life-enriching programs and transportation to the youth of St. Lucie County.  To learn more about how you can join in and support the Club, call 772-460-9918.
