2014 Youth of the Year Winner!
Cody Hatt
Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County proudly announces Cody Hatt as the 2014 Youth of the Year.
Cody Hatt, age 15, is a sophomore at Lincoln Park Academy in Fort Pierce. He is enrolled in the Pre-International Baccalaureate program, on track to attend Stanford University or the University of Florida. He has been a member of Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County’s Ken Pruitt Unit for nine years, joining in 2005.
Cody Hatt was one of three candidates in this year event that presented their speeches in front of a distinguished panel of 8 judges at Santa Lucia River Club at Ballantrae.
As the 2014 Youth of the Year winner Cody Hatt was presented with a two year scholarship to Indian River State College donated by IRSC Foundation, sponsorship for the Southeast Honor Flight to Washington DC donated by Dr. Shamsher Singh, iPad Mini donated by Peter W. Busch Family Foundation & Southern Eagle Distributing and St. Lucie County Fair package donated by the Sunrise Kiwanis Club
Youth of the Year is the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County’s premier youth recognition program for teen Club Members. The qualities of character, service and leadership that characterize a Youth of the Year are promoted in the Club every day.
As the 2014 winner, Cody will represent the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County at the state level and potentially the national level where he will compete for a $50,000 scholarship and an appearance at the White House thanks to Tupperware Brands Corporation who sponsors the Youth of the Year program.
