FORT PIERCE, FL.: As Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County proudly marks its 30th anniversary, itis a time of celebration, reflection, and gratitude. For three decades, this life-enriching organization has been transforming the lives of young people, fostering their potential, and empowering them to become responsible, caring, and productive citizens. The impact of Boys & Girls Clubs resonates far beyond its local community, leaving a lasting legacy of hope, opportunity, and positive change.
Founded in 1994, the organization was built on the pillars of providing a safe and nurturing environment, supportive adult mentors, and innovative programs that address the holistic needs of children and teenagers. Fast forward to 2023 and Boys & Girls Clubs is still staying true to their founders’ vision while also continuously evolving and adapting to the changing and growing needs of our communities. By actively listening to the voices of children, teenagers, and families throughout St. Lucie County, the organization has developed new programs and initiatives that are specifically tailored to address unique challenges and community aspirations. Today, Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County operates in 25 locations serving over 14,000 youth ages 6-18 in community Clubhouses, school-based sites, and various outreach programs.
The success and longevity of Boys & Girls Clubs can be largely attributed to the unwavering support of the local community. From the onset, businesses, individuals, and government entities recognized the significance of investing in the future of their youth. Through generous donations, community partnerships, small business and nonprofit collaborations, and volunteer efforts, the organization has been able to grow its programs and expand its reach to more children and teens over the years.
Over the past 30 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County has transformed the lives of countless young people, inspiring hope and fostering a sense of belonging. By offering a safe and supportive space, the organization has empowered members to overcome challenges, build meaningful relationships, and develop essential life skills.
