FORT PIERCE, FL: St. Lucie County has witnessed remarkable growth in recent years, and Boys & Girls Clubs has been steadfastly keeping pace with this expansion. Through strategic initiatives, such as major promotions and internal restructuring, the organization has built a strong foundation for continued success in providing essential support to the community’s youth.

“The growth that Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County has experienced in recent years, has put the organization in a position to ensure that we are prepared for the future of serving more children and teens,” said Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County CEO, Will Armstead. “The internal restructuring and creation of new positions are the result of continuous quality improvement and the organization’s commitment to professional development.”

The recent restructuring within the organization brings exciting changes aimed at nurturing the growth of the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County. The operations roles have been divided to support the expansion of the organization’s six Clubhouses and 17 school-based Clubs. This strategic decision ensures that every facet of the organization receives dedicated leadership to deliver exceptional experiences to the children and teens they serve.

One notable appointment resulting from the restructuring is Mat Churchey, who has been named the Vice President of Growth Initiatives. With years of dedicated service, Churchey will lead the development of programs focused on Workforce Readiness and spearhead the organization’s school-based Clubs. Working closely with Churchey will be former Club Area Director, Kaitlyn Swoope, who has also earned a well-deserved promotion and is now the Acting Vice President of Club Services and 21st Century. In this crucial role, Swoope will build on the world-class Boys & Girls Clubs experience, ensuring all youth have a safe environment to grow, learn, and thrive.

Recognizing the importance of effective communication in the digital age, Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County has taken a significant step by establishing a dedicated communications department spearheaded by their new Acting Vice President of Communications, Marissa Gleockler. This new department will focus on enhancing outreach efforts, building community partnerships, and raising awareness about the organization’s mission and programs. By effectively disseminating information and fostering connections, Boys & Girls Clubs will be better positioned to serve a larger number of children and teens who can benefit from their services.

These recent changes signify a step forward in the organization’s growth trajectory and their profound understanding of the evolving needs in St. Lucie County. As Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County approaches their 30th anniversary, the organization is looking forward to the many years of impact to come.
