Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County Founders Luncheon

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL: On August 19, 2022, Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County honored the Founders and Heritage Club members at a luncheon hosted by Kyle G’s Prime Seafood & Steaks. Since 1994, this group of community leaders and volunteers worked to fulfill the need for local kids to have a safe place to be outside of school. They raised money, hired staff, secured Club locations and worked with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to establish the new Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County.

28 years later, their vision for the Clubs remains strong and growing. As Founders, their legacy will have a positive impact on children, especially those who need us most, for many years to come. The Founders included Mac Mascioli*, Dr. William Dannahower*, Chuck Hill*, Ginny Jackson, De Bowman, Linda Dusanek, Jack Kelly, Chris Fogal, Larry Lee, Jr., Rob Schweiger, and David Smith.

“28 years ago, I became a part of a movement that changed my life in so many ways,” said Founder De Bowman. “I had no idea that I would witness the success of so many young people due to Boys & Girls Clubs programs. The dedication, hard work and love of the founding board members paved the way for the tremendous success and growth we have today. The success of St. Lucie County kids put a smile on my face then, and still does today.”
