FORT PIERCE, FL.: St. Lucie County’s rapid expansion has prompted the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County to take proactive steps to keep pace with the growing community. Recognizing the importance of effective communication in this digital age, the organization has created a dedicated Communications Department. This strategic move aims to enhance outreach efforts, build community partnerships, and raise awareness about the organization’s mission and programs.

Leading this new department is Marissa Gleockler, who brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role as the Acting Vice President of Communications. Gleockler’s journey in St. Lucie County began in 2018 when she worked in creative design and digital media for the Mets organization before transitioning to the nonprofit sector as the Special Events & Marketing Manager for Junior Achievement of the Palm Beaches & Treasure Coast.

With a bachelor’s degree in advertising and a master’s degree in public relations and mass communication from the University of Florida, Gleockler possesses a solid educational foundation and passion for community engagement. Her exemplary skills and commitment to the organization’s mission earned her a full-time position in 2022 within the Resource Development department as the Public Relations Coordinator before taking on her new role, further solidifying her commitment to serving St. Lucie County youth. Her extensive background in marketing, public relations, and community outreach positions her well to spearhead the communication efforts of the organization.

“It is such an honor to take on building this new department and sharing the impact that Boys & Girls Clubs has on our members and the community as a whole,” says Gleockler. “As we look to the future of our organization and St. Lucie County, there are so many opportunities for growth, and I look forward to being a part of that.”

The establishment of the Communications Department and the appointment of Marissa Gleockler as the Acting Vice President of Communications reflect the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County’s commitment to adapt and grow along with the expanding county. By effectively disseminating information and fostering connections, the organization will be better positioned to serve an increasing number of children and teens in the community.

Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County CEO, Will Armstead, said, “Now more than ever, we see the importance in sharing our mission with the community and finding innovative ways to reach our young people. By putting an emphasis on both internal and external communications, I believe we will be able to create more Great Futures in our Clubs and schools.”

With a talented leader like Marissa Gleockler at the helm, the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County can confidently navigate the evolving landscape, ensuring that their programs and services reach and impact a larger audience. As the organization embraces growth and innovation, they remain steadfast in their mission to provide a nurturing environment where young individuals can learn, grow, and thrive.
