“’Cause a little bit of summer is what the whole year is all about.”

– John Mayer

Throughout St. Lucie County kids are starting to squirm in their school seats a little more every day because they know summer is just around the semester. This year, to accommodate the extra squirmers, Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County has a second Summer Camp-A-Thon location added to the roster.

In addition to the camp activities that began last summer at the MidFlorida Event Center in Port St. Lucie BGCSLC will now host a full day of camp activities all summer from June 7 through August 6 at the new Westside Club Complex just off I-95 in Fort Pierce.

The camps will offer a variety of ‘get out and play’ activities and games as well as performing arts activities, culinary classes, martial arts training, crafts, S.T.E.A.M. activities and more.

“Last year we started camp at the MidFlorida Event Center three months into the COVID pandemic and came away with hundreds of happy children that were able to play safely with their friends while keeping people employed during the toughest time of the year.” said Will Armstead, CEO of BGCSLC.

The $65 per week Summer Camp-A-Thon with lunch included every day is open for all ages of students in grades K-12. Parents that register before March 30 will be entered in a drawing for a free week of camp and the registration fee of $15 will be waived.

“The Clubkids we see everyday still talk about their camp experiences from last year, so we know we created lasting memories for them and look forward to doing it again with more space, activities and kids.” said Sean Howald, Westside Club Complex Operations Director.

More this year than ever, a little bit of summer truly is what the whole year is all about. Summer Camp-A-Thon signs ups can be made online at www.bgcofslc.org/programs/summer-camp/ or by calling 772-460-9918.
